My daughter will be two months old when I put up my artwork at the end of april and I have to go in on a weekend to put it up for the monday and and the day care the university offers isn't available for me on a weekend so I'd have to take her in with me because I know my flat mates won't look after her and I'm not on best terms with my family. So I thought I could get something like this http://www.mothercare.com/Babaslings-theBabaSling-Midnight-Black/dp/B0011HSPB2/sr=1-5/qid=1235927418/ref=sr_1_5/278-8409204-3985728?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=core to put her in whilst I hang up canvases and set up sculptures. But I'm not 100% sure if she'd be safe in it. Would it be safe to have her in the baby sling or should I find someone to look after her.I don't like the idea of leaving her with my back turned in a pram or car seat because anyone can walk into the hall and take her and I don't hear well from behind.I'm not going up a ladder. I'm just hooking some canvases to the wall.

i would put her in a pram and keep moving here so she is by the side of you. the sling would work, but i would be worried about toppling or tripping over with her. pram is the safest way to go i think! good luck

Personally I would not use a sling while putting up artwork. How about getting someone to come with you and they can watch the baby while in the pram?

I think the only danger would be if you were going up/down ladders or using stools etc. You could fall. Other than that, I don't see why you couldn't use a sling. I vacuum the house with my son in a carrier. As long as I don't bend over at the waist without holding onto him I'm good. Also, depending on how long you will be doing this, it might get tiring.

I have a similar sling and can do almost anything with it. You need to have one hand free to support her if you need to bend over but otherwise it's safe. Having a baby in a sling is a lot like having a pregnant belly in the way so keep that in mind when you need to reach for things.

Hi,It should be fine but I would say be very careful about not dropping any art work on her and don't go standing on ladders to put up anything as that would not be safe.Another idea would to put her in her pram and just keep it close to you.Good luck!Lx

Good grief. You don't know how to look after your daughter because you'll be up a ladder! Give me strength.

You have to keep her with someone who will take good care of her. That day will be very busy for you to take care of her, and as u said she might be stolen if you get busy or forget to check on her for a minute! Never put your baby in the sling when you are hanging canvases. If a canvas falls over my head it might injure me badly or a pin might poke my eye! How about a little baby in a sling! Its gonna be very dangerous and u won't feel comfortable while working, instead you will be worried and might even mess up your work.
