You get the use of your hands again! The biggest advantage to my mind of the sling is its convenience - you can cuddle your baby and still get things done.
A sling will support the baby, mimicking its natural shape and simulating the womb.
Helps with bonding with mum & dad. Easy eye contact help you get to know your baby and listen/watch for any clues as to their wellbeing.
Fantastic for breastfeeding - you can nurse discreetly in the sling, and having baby close can encourage milk supply.
Helps baby's spine and leg as no pressure is placed on them, unlike frontpack carriers which should ideally be used for older babies only.
